Дело Папона, а также решение о разделении ответственности за депортации евреев государством имели правовые последствия. Так, против государственной железнодорожной компании SNCF и против государства в административном трибунале Тулузы в 2006 г. было вынесено решение, обязывающее выплатить репарации семьям депортированных евреев [95, 69]. Подобным образом в 2014 г. репарации жертвам Холокоста, депортированным из Франции во время Второй мировой войны, стали обязательным условием для получения разрешения расширить частные филиалы этой компании в США [97, 98].
Вне зависимости от оценок, которые можно давать процессу над Морисом Папоном и его последствиям, Франция продемонстрировала способность интегрировать международное право в свою правовую традицию, несмотря на связанные с этим сложности и противоречия. Также, наблюдая за реакцией власти на связанные с этим делом события, мы видим, что французские власти выбрали стратегию смягчения общественных противоречий в стране. И, несмотря на то, что действия правительства в этом направлении можно и нужно подвергать критике, несмотря на противоречие осуществляемых властью шагов, нельзя не отметить, что такой вариант является гораздо более конструктивным, чем эскалация внутренних конфликтов.
