Рекомендуемое обследование включает анализ сыворотки и ЦСЖ на наличие специфических антител, МРТ, ПЭТ КТ, ЭЭГ и онкологический скрининг.
Лечение включает оперативное удаление первичной опухоли и использование терапии, направленной на Т-клетки, включая такие препараты как циклофосфамид, ГКС и такролимус при классическом ПЭМ, а также плазмаферез или ГКС при неклассическом ПЭМ.
Для улучшения прогноза заболевания необходимо придерживаться тактики онконастороженности у пациентов с опухолевыми заболеваниями в отношении неврологических ПНС.
