Abstract
National language picture of the world and its reflection in folklore as a component of the content of teaching foreign students

The main task that is solved in this article is to provide the educational process for foreign students studying Russian or Ukrainian in the East Slavic countries with theoretical and practical material for the formation of sociocultural competence.
The article analyzes the most significant interpretations of the basic scientific concepts of the study - picture of the world, language picture of the world, national language picture of the world - on the basis of which the authors attempt to conduct a comparative analysis of some aspects of the national language picture of the world that are reflected in folklore.
The focus is on the genres of proverbs and sayings, ritual songs, as well as folk symbols as such, which demonstrate common and different (national) in the language picture of the world of different nations.
The authors conclude that even geographically distant peoples in the language picture of the world have a universal base in world understanding, life philosophy, morality, which is confirmed by the content of the analyzed folklore genres and folk symbols.
However, different geographical location of peoples, unique historical path of peoples' development, formed psychology of peoples separated from one another influenced emergence of distinctive and unique properties of the national language picture of the world, which was reflected in various meanings of folk symbols, content of proverbs and sayings.
Acquaintance with such differences in the national language picture of the world of peoples will become the basis for eliminating the gaps in understanding the culture of the native speaker.
In the process of research the following methods were used, namely: the method of analysis of linguistic studies devoted to description of the basic concepts of the article - picture of the world, language picture of the world, national language picture of the world; method of comparative analysis of folklore elements of peoples; a descriptive method by which the results of the study were recorded.
