Таким образом, мы видим, что в последние десятилетия теория справедливой войны меняется в связи с влиянием целого ряда теоретических и политических обстоятельств. И это не означает, что нормативные критерии, формулируемые ее сторонниками, подлаживаются под сиюминутные интересы и изменчивые тенденции международной политики. Сама суть прикладной этики (а этика войны является ее неотъемлемой частью) такова, что она отвечает за гибкую и прозрачную контекстуализацию нравственных ценностей применительно к состоянию общественной практики. Она является тем дискуссионным пространством, внутри которого проверяются на прочность и постоянно корректируются центральные нормативные убеждения эпохи.
