Dialogue of language and culture, their interdependence and correlation is an actively developing field of research. Different approaches and "prisms" of research to this problem succeed each other. The article considers existing approaches: language as a condition of culture, language as part of culture, language as a product of culture, language and culture as elements of the semiosphere, language as a "substitute" for national culture,
The purpose of the article is to consider the existing approaches to the problem of the relationship between language and culture.. The article reviews the current approaches to the problems of the interconnection between language and culture: language as a condition of culture (W. Humboldt, A. A. Potebnya, L. Weisberger, B. Whorf, E. Sapir, A. Vezhbitskaya), language as a part of culture (N. I. Tolstoy, N. S. Trubetskoy), language as a product of culture (D. H. Hymes), language and culture as elements of semiotic space (Yu. M. Lotman), language as a 'replacement' of national culture (D. S. Likhachev) and others. A change of scientific paradigms means a change of the 'prism' in the research of the dialogue between language and culture, their mutual conditionality and correspondence, the participation of language in the creation of spiritual culture and the participation of spiritual culture in language formation. The question of the relationship between language and culture is decided ambiguously. The following approaches are considered in the article: language as a condition of culture, language as a part of culture, language as a product of culture, language and culture as elements of the semiosphere, language as a "deputy" of national culture, language (verbal and semantic component) and cultural fund as levels of language personality and etc. We see the prospect of further research in the possibility of applying the theoretical provisions of our work to the study of the role of language in the creation of a spiritual culture and the role of culture in the formation of language.
