ABOUT AN EFFECT OF SELENIUM PREPARATION ON IMMUNE SYSTEM OF YOUNG PIGS
G.I. Boryaev, Yu.N. Fedorov, M.N. Nevitov
The authors investigated an effect of selenium preparation on immune system of young pigs. The concentration of selenium and immunoglobulins in colostrum and blood serum and also the phagocytic activity of neutrophil and the number of T-lymphocytes in peripheral blood were determined in connection with dose of preparation and pig's age. It was shown, that IgG and IgM concentrations in colostrum under the influence of selenopyran were higher by 52 and 136 %, but sodium selenit -- by 22 and 100 %, respectively. In early periods of postnatal ontogenesis the piglets in experiment have higher concentrations of selenium and G-, M- and A-immunoglobulin in blood serum and also number of lymphocytes and phagocytic activity of neutrophils in the blood than intact animals. It was suggested, that the use of selenium preparation in system «mother-embryo» and during weaning of piglets promote to rising of cellular immunity due to protective effect of these preparations on T-lymphocytes during intensive free radical oxidation in organism of pregnant sows and piglets-suckers.
