Исходя из изложенного, сделаем вывод о месте гудвилл, клиентуры и деловой репутации в решениях ЕСПЧ о защите основных экономических прав. Европейский Суд по правам человека признаёт и защищает перечисленные институты в рамках осуществления заявителями профессиональной деятельности. Репутация и клиентура учитываются при формировании правовых позиций как по отдельности, так и в качестве составных частей гудвилл. ЕСПЧ обеспечивает защиту данных институтов, так как они составляют экономические интересы, влияющие на финансовое положение заявителей. Данные термины толкуются в широком смысле, поскольку ЕСПЧ в своей деятельности стремится к достижению полной защиты максимально широкого диапазона прав человека и основных свобод путём толкования крайне ограниченного набора прав, непосредственно предусмотренных Конвенцией о защите прав человека и основных свобод.
