The Phenomenon of Female Identity in Modern Japanese Literature

The article is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of female self-consciousness in modern japanese literature, while the author examines primarily works created by women themselves. The article discusses the features of the literary renaissance of modern women's prose, which is represented in Japan by the names of Murata Sayaka, Yoshimoto Banana and Yoko Ogawa. The article focuses on the specifics of the national Japanese culture, as well as philosophical reflections on the nature of man and the essence of human existence. The article presents a historical retrospective of women's writing in Japan in the context of a traditionally patriarchal society. The author analyzes how the historical conditions of the country's development influenced the development of literary creativity. The author explores the social, psychological and philosophical problems in modern Japanese society, which are raised in their works by the writer. At the same time, these problems are primarily related to the female worldview and reflect the female view of what is happening in the world. Analyzing modern women's prose, the author comes to the conclusion that many issues raised by Murata Sayaka and others go beyond the national tradition and acquire universal significance. This is confirmed by the recognition of their work in the international literary community and fame around the world.
