The issue of education of children with disabilities is reflected in the official documents regulating the activities of educational institutions, including institutions of additional education. The development of an inclusive approach to the education of children with disabilities has led to the formulation of the question about the mechanism of inclusion of "special children" in the educational environment. The article examines the capacity of institutions of additional education as a special educational environment that engages children with disabilities in active social and cultural space, where every child has the opportunity and means for self-expression and, therefore, acquisition of social experience. Work on the development of socio-communicative competence of children with disabilities presented by the authors as the interaction of secondary schools, institutions of additional education, public organizations on the creation of their joint reasons (events) for communication with the environment.
